EF skills coaching

Exercising independence is a critical need for teenagers. We leverage this aspect in the stage of puberty as an important motivator. Our strategy involves putting the child in the driver’s seat with your oversight. We act as team players and accountability partners. We come alongside your child in whatever skill they are working on and guide him or her to negotiate an “agreement strategy” with you. This plan will be adjusted along the way as necessary for optimal results.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey guides all aspects of our executive functioning coaching.  The habits are organized into 3 categories:  private victory, public victory and renewal.  One of the core concepts in the “7 habits” is gaining sufficient mastery over oneself to be equipped for working effectively with others.  Therefore, our starting point focuses on helping your child gain mastery in their personal areas of need first.

Private Coaching

We use the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens as our “manual” for all coaching that we do.  We have students read, study and discuss this book with us during our one-on-one and group coaching sessions.

Workshops

We offer 7 Habits workshops for groups.   If you are interested in having your 6th – 12th grader attend a workshop, please contact us.

Consultation

Consultation is included in all our private coaching packages.  We want to be as available as possible to talk with you, your child and any other parties involved as needs arise.  Due to the nature of our individualized programs, consultation can be “continuous” or on an “as needed” basis.  Consultative needs can fluctuate weekly depending on many variables and purposes such as collaborating or strategizing with you, your child, teachers, case workers and administrators.
